Agnieszka & Michal: Orange challenge!

Few years back I remember smaller weddings were really popular but recently weddings over 200 people are considered norm. With Michal and Agnieszka I had a chance to plan their smaller wedding which was really fun to do for a change of paste. Venue that our couple picked was not a traditional choice. For one, our couple couldn't have over 150 guests so they really needed to do some work on trimming their guest list. Fiddler's very European style of set up, of long communal tables and multi-course dinner make this venue really popular amongst local Slavic community. As for the look, reception room is painting with a pretty vibrant orange which really can overpower any color palette and is quite challenging to work with. Agnieszka wanted to compliment the room and we decided on blush tones with light orange/peach accents. Our color choices softened the look and gave it warm summer wedding feel. Why fight the colors when you can make them work? It was a gorgeous summer day where our couple really took advantage of the sunny weather and captured with Agnes Photography some great shots.

Cool and warm vintage wedding.

Monica & Peter, October 2012

There is nothing better and a romantic fall wedding day in Michigan. (Especially if it is full of sun and is warm enough not to wear winter coats). Our couple, Monica and Peter picked out a very unique color combination for their wedding. We were trying few things but we finally decided on champagne and navy with touch of orange and warmer tones. It is a great color combination for a fall wedding. Cool, winter tones are balanced by warm orange shades. We tried to include quite a bit of lace and vintage details, since Monica loved the way that looked.  Monica's parents took also a big part in planning, they were great help and were lovely to work with. We are extremely happy for our bride and groom and we wish them all the best!

And below are few beautiful photos from Agnes Photography.

Bridal bouquet with quite a bit of color. And lighter in shade bridesmaids bouquets. We chose for them to be more pale because of dark navy dresses that the girls were wearing.

It was an extremely beautiful fall day. Monica and Peter got really lucky!

Looks like all of them took advantage of the warm and sunny weather.

So many of their photographs are so beautiful! So hard to pick few.

First fall wedding.

Agnieszka & Waldek, September 2012

Our first fall wedding of the season was really great. We got to work with an amazing, full of love couple, Agnieszka and Waldek. Both, as you might suspect Polish! Agnieszka really wanted to keep their wedding fall-looking and very elegant. As you can see at the reception in the Summit we brought everything to life. We had chocolate linens, champagne chair covers with gold accent of a satin sash. We had gold chargers and champagne napkins. As far as flowers majority was ivory with additions of orange and soft peach. Around the room we had amber lighting. We also had pipe and drape behind the head table and gobo that was directed onto the diamond-shaped dance floor. It was a great day for a fall wedding and our couple looked really charming.

Here is Agnieszka's bridal bouquet.

Below is one shot taken by Video to Remember of our lovely couple and their bridal party.
Hopefully I will get to see more soon and I will be able to share with all of you!

Purple and Orange: Warm summer wedding!

Randi & Jeremy, July 2012

This summer in Michigan was just beautiful. Full of sunny, warm days. (Some will complain that it was too hot but I just loved it). Randi and Jeremy really had one of those perfect summer days for their wedding. Their ceremony was outdoor at the Myth Golf and Banquets and it was just gorgeous. Randi wanted a purple wedding and we were going back and forth on choosing right colors that would complement our combination. We decided to pick orange and peach since inside of Myth interior had lots of orange wood, so it just seemed like a natural combination. Our centerpieces were low, yet they were vibrant enough to stand out from far away. Deep purple linens had sparkles on them that kept shimmering in the sunset that was coming in from outside. Chair covers and napkins were ivory satin to soften our dark purple linens. For the ceremony we decorate white arch with the same shade of flowers that we had inside of the venue. I have to say that entire wedding was just magical, I couldn't have wished for a better day for our couple. Congratulations Randi and Jeremy we wish you equally perfect marriage!

Orange Wedding

Lindsay & Erwin, June 2012

Oranges are so refreshing! Once in a great while we come across a client that is not a huge fan of flowers. A lot of you probably are thinking, how can you make that work since so much of your work depends on floral design studio? There a lot of ways in which you can make your event beautiful without using a large amount of fresh flowers. Lindsay from the beginning mentioned her colors were orange and teal and our immediate idea was to incorporate oranges. We didn't use a lot of flowers we just used enough to create a romantic look. The flowers that we did use were higher-end flowers, like orange calla lilies. In order to compensate for the smaller amount of flowers we used also lots of candles. Once we lit entire room, we created a lot of warmth. The look and colors were definitely unique and charming. Lindsay and Erwin had a gorgeous day and they both looked beautiful. They are a great couple and we wish them lots of happiness.

Below are few wonderful photos of our bride and groom shot by You Bet I Do Photography. (If you are worried about the "groom's kick" shot- don't be, our couple met in a karate class and Lindsay is more than capable of chopping blocks of wood herself!)
