Gisella & Vasile: Joining Cultures

Once in a while I have a pleasure to work with couples that are joining two complete different cultures. It is really wonderful to see that love has no limits and also it is really fun to see how traditions and families make entire event truly special. Gisella originally is from Peru and Vasile from Romania so working with Gisella on planning her wedding was really exciting for me. Gisella knew she wanted to have navy as her primary color for the wedding. To keep the palette fresh and natural we added greens and whites to the mix. Traditional Orthodox ceremony took place in Holy Trinity Romanian Orthodox Church in Troy, reception was also held next door in the very specious banquet room. Attached are few photos documenting entire day and how everything turned out. Together with entire Goizzy team we wish Gisella and Vasile very happy marriage!

Michelle & Chris: Romantic Fall Wedding!

Michelle and Chris picked not only an awesome Michigan season to get married in but also they picked one of my all time favorite venues in Metro Detroit, Cherry Creek Golf Course. Since Cherry Creek is full of large windows it is very bright in there till late and it has a very magical feel. Michelle wanted to do a combination of navy and green as primary colors for her wedding but later had a change of heart. We incorporated a lot more champagne, ivory and navy, green were more of  accent colors. Michelle also had a vision of keeping everything pretty vintage so we incorporated laced details to our vases. One of really pleasant surprises was that Michelle didn't want a traditional wedding cake, instead she has ordered entire sweets table from Moonwink Bakery. Photo of the table is below and I must say it was awesome. Cupcakes had really nice elegant details and everything matched our color scheme just perfectly. It was an absolutely stunning day and some of the photos from Veldman Photo are just a true reflection on how perfect it was. Congratulations to both of our Bride and Groom and we wish them a very happy life together!

Winter Wedding: Peacock inspiration.

So again I have fallen behind on my posts. I need to really get on top of it since there are still event from 2012 that haven't been posted. This wedding that we designed for Caitlyn and Andy was really different and charming. Caitlyn picked out a beautiful location, because the ceremony and reception took place at The Whitney downtown Detroit. Caitlyn wanted to stick to pretty clean color palette with ivories and whites but she wanted to add peacock feathers as a theme element to entire wedding. In order to pull everything together we decided on navy color with gold accents. Our centerpieces were variety of different sizes of manzanita branches. Our branches had crystals and hanging candles from them as well as a touch of flowers. For the ceremony that was set up on second level we had pipe and drape with golden fabric draped on it that was surrounded by lots of candles. Seating for guests was set up with the use of mahogany chavari chairs. Caitlyn was a unique bride because she didn't want to wear white. Her dress was a magical dark navy sequence dress. Entire day was chilly yet filled with love!

Cool and warm vintage wedding.

Monica & Peter, October 2012

There is nothing better and a romantic fall wedding day in Michigan. (Especially if it is full of sun and is warm enough not to wear winter coats). Our couple, Monica and Peter picked out a very unique color combination for their wedding. We were trying few things but we finally decided on champagne and navy with touch of orange and warmer tones. It is a great color combination for a fall wedding. Cool, winter tones are balanced by warm orange shades.We tried to include quite a bit of lace and vintage details, since Monica loved the way that looked.  Monica's parents took also a big part in planning, they were great help and were lovely to work with. We are extremely happy for our bride and groom and we wish them all the best!

It was an extremely beautiful fall day. Monica and Peter got really lucky!

University of Michigan wedding colors.

Yes! Finally a yellow wedding! I couldn't tell you how long we have been waiting for a bride that would want to use yellow for her wedding. Yellow is just such a happy color and there are so many beautiful flowers in that shade that it is an extremely fun color to work with. Our bride and groom, as you might suspect both are connected to University of Michigan, that's why picking a color scheme for them came effortless. Both, the wedding and the ceremony were at the well known Polish St. Florian Church in Hamtramck. We've never had an event in that space before so it was refreshing to work with a new space. Setting up a layout and figuring out what would work best was really fun. As you can tell, we had navy linens, white chair covers with yellow sashes and yellow napkins. Our flowers were all yellow and white. We had LED bases lighting up our vases as well as blue lighting that added extra color to the room. We also had a backdrop behind the head table and ceiling draping above the cake and the dance floor. Our bride and groom looked absolutely stunning and we could not be happier for them. Royal Colors in Spring

Genevieve & Martin, April 2012 

Planning Genevieve and Martin's wedding was truly a pleasure. From the beginning, I knew their wedding will be a gem and indeed it was. Interesting color combination and beautiful location of the reception in Colony Club downtown Detroit, really just had the pieces fall naturally into the place. Because it was a spring wedding we wanted to keep it fresh looking, so we balanced out our dark shades of flowers with ivories and whites. We also incorporated deep dark purple tulips that flew in especially for Genevieve and Martin from Holland. It was a bit chilly day here in Detroit, but downtown was anything bout chilly. With two Tigers games just block away from Colony Club entire area was full of energy and excitement. Our couple was just gorgeous and I can't wait to see their professional photos from Craig David Butler. Congratulations to both of you and we wish you many happy years together!

Winter Wonderland: Dream New Year's Eve Wedding

What is a better way to celebrate and begin a 2012 than with a 300 guest wedding? Marissa and Josh started planning their wedding with us already last year. From the beginning our goal was to make everything winter wonderland theme. Lots of blue shades, silver and white. For our centerpieces we had all white rose arrangements with silver filler and silver thread that gave a frost-like effect. LED bases under vases gave an extra cool effect to all of the tables. Hanging crystals almost looked like icicles. Reception took place in San Marino, which was completely transformed by dramatic LED lighting. Wonderful wedding cake was done by Militello's Bakery and decorated with our flowers. Entire wedding was documented beautifully by Agnes Photography. It was an awesome New Year's Eve night and great way to start 2012. Congratulations to our first 2012 bride and groom!

Michigan Blue Golf Course Wedding

Few weeks ago we had a pleasure of working for Lianna and Scott's wedding. It was really a gorgeous August day. It was especially nice since the wedding ceremony that our lovely couple had was outdoor. Both the ceremony and reception took place in Greystone Golf Club and Banquet Center in Romeo. It is a really nice location, very relaxed and with beautiful view over the golf course and lake. A tiny bit of background, Lianna since the first day we met was very sure of her color choices. She knew she wanted her bridesmaids to wear three different shades of dresses. Maid of honor wore silver, one bridesmaid wore cornflower blue and the other royal blue dress. It was a cool idea and I totally supported it. To match and create a uniform look we tired picking flowers that had those three shades as well. We had Cornflower, royal blue Delphiniums and light blue Hydrangeas. We also had few Irises that we used in bridal party bouquets that were extremely light purple and gave an illusion of grey color. Outdoor we decorated the arch. Because of the wind we had to substitute requested petals for royal blue ribbon that was held by little flower baskets to emphasize the ail. Indoor for the reception we had champagne linens and chair covers with royal blue satin sashes. Majority of the flowers had blue tones we only had a bit of green Bells of Ireland and Calla Lilies for variety. Entire wedding turned out very well and our couple looked wonderful. Congratulations to both of you!
