Katherine & Tommy: Vibrant Summer!

Some summer days are just amazingly perfect. For Katherine and Tommy their wedding day weather was just that. When both Katherine and Tommy contacted me to help them plan their big day, I immediately was super excited since I have done weddings for both of Tommy's brothers, Chris and Darek. What was even cooler was that I have done a wedding for Katherine's brother, Tom few years back. Both amazing families that I have personal history with, joining together - it couldn't get any better than this! Katherine wanted bright colors for their wedding so we decided on purple, fuchsia color combination with some lavender shades. Katherine carried all white bridal bouquet while the bridesmaids had gorgeous fuchsia dresses with flowers to match. The reception room in The Sterling Inn that normaly lacks colors, was completely transformed by bright shimmery linens, stark satin chair covers and vibrant flowers and LED lights. Looking at photos of Katherine and Tommy makes me instantly happy. So much love, fun and color! We wish Katherine and Tommy very bright  full of love, future together!

Natalia & Piotr: Romantic Shades of Lavender.

Last year we have done quite a bit of purple/violet weddings. I love that family of colors so I always enjoy any time we get to work with those color palettes. You can mix purple and lavender with almost any other color and it will look great. Natalia picked out for her secondary accent color light green that gave a very refreshing look to our combination of purple/lavender shades. We had on guest tables violet shimmery linens that were accented by ivory satin chair covers. Our centerpieces were a combination of two types of designs. Tall floral arrangements and LED lit tube vases. Purple LED lighting added also extra charm to the room. I added final touches on simple, yet elegant wedding cake. We have raised it by placing it on our square cake stand. And the wedding cake was just a start because we had a pretty elaborate set up of a sweets table. When everything was done, there was a very romantic feel in the air. It was a gorgeous day and our couple looked amazing and very much in love! Natalia & Piotr get a very best wishes from our team and we wish long and beautiful full of love life together!

Dorota & Chris: Lavender Love.

Dorota and Chris had their wedding last June. For a fresh color palette that fits the summer season, they picked a light purple and lavender colors with a little bit of cream accents. We had iridescent lavender/purple linens with a gold tint and ivory chair covers. Our flowers were mostly purple. We also had lavender accent lighting around the room. Photos below don't show fully set up room but hopefully they help in creating a vision. Sweet dreams bakery provided a really pretty cake for our couple and I personally added some extra touch by adding few lavender flowers around it. It was a beautiful summer day full of sun and warm weather and I was really happy for our couple to have a perfect day for their wedding. Congratulations to Dorota and Chris!

Patrycja & Albert: Purple elegant start of summer!

Patrycja and Albert's wedding opened up our wedding season of purple weddings! In 2014 purple color became quite popular among weddings. It is a beautiful rich color that can be mixed with a lot of different shades to create wonderful color palettes. Patrycja had a vision of keeping everything very soft and elegant. Deep purple linens were toned down by soft ivories of chair covers and light shades of flowers. Purple lighting added magical feeling to their reception room in the American Polish Cultural Center and draping behind head table added extra elegance. Below are few photos of what entire room looked like set up. Patrycja and Albert had a beautiful early summer day filled with lots of love. We wish them many wonderful years ahead of them.

Kinga & Adam and their summer wedding.

August, 2013

We are always lucky to have clients that want to be adventurous when it comes to the look of their wedding. Our bride and groom, Kinga and Adam really picked a unique color combination that isn't often used for weddings. Purple hues have been huge in 2013 as well as will be in 2014. There are many colors that you can pair up with purple but green isn't an an obvious choice. We paired up flowers in a way to create high contrast between both colors. For bridesmaids we picked a good mix of both colors of flowers to accent their lighter violet color dresses. (We even picked two tone orchids with purple middles). For reception in the American Polish Cultural Center we used shimmery purple table linens and purple lighting to create dramatic look. In order to keep the look at the room more wedding-like we still used white satin chair covers and white napkins. Below photos show you our final look of the room. Our bride and groom had a gorgeous summer day and their color choices really became representation of their unique characters. We wish them many happy years together!

Anne & Andy get Married!

August 2013

It is time to catch up! 2013 is behind us and as every year we had a lot of wonderful weddings and worked with whole bunch of great clients. One of the weddings we did past August was a wedding for Anne and Andy. Ceremony took place in always beautiful St. Florian in Hamtramck and it reception followed in Pennas of Sterling Heights. Anne was inspired by another wedding in purple shades that she saw in the same venue so she really knew she wanted to stick to that color palate. We had lots of purple, a touch of navy and touch of silver for extra sparkles. Our linens on the tables had intricate pattern and all shimmered in our purple lighting. We had two different types of centerpieces. Tall floral arrangements with lots of mixed purple colors and navy roses. And three-vase centerpieces that were lit by our blue lights and had gorgeous blue hydrangeas on top. Our couple looked stunning to complete the look. Everyone had a great time and we loved seeing lots of smiling faces!

Purple is good any season!

Christen & Michal, October 2012

This past fall season has just been great. We had wonderful clients and all of them had pretty clear visions of what they wanted to achieve. Kristen started out with minimalist approach but with support of her family and mother in law her ideas have reached a new level of sophistication. Once again we had a pleasure of working in St. Florian Church in Hamtramck. (It almost never happens that we have the same venue twice in a row, but that month it did!). It is really fun to see how the same room can be transformed differently based on different color palette and different ideas. Kristen's wedding had 300 guests so we had lots of tables to work with. We had two different types of centerpieces, low and tall. Low centerpieces had candles that gave out warmth and tall centerpieces had more flowers and had pin spots to highlight all the wonderful purple tones in them. Our linens were deep purple and had extra shimmer to them as well as lots of embroidery. We also did backdrop behind two-level head table, which we lit in lavender to accentuate it more. We didn't have too many lights because of the large size of the room but we had just enough to add interest and help out in enforcing our palette. Best feature of entire room was a huge Polish appetizer table that had home made sausage and different kinds of meats as well as bread (and anything you can imagine as far a traditional Polish snacks go). Our couple had a beautiful day, they looked gorgeous and together with my team we wish them best of luck as a married couple!
