Christine & Dean: Italian Winery

Early fall, rich colors and lots of wine! We created a design for Christine & Dean that embraced their Italian roots but also brought some of the winery elements into the room. The wedding took place at the San Marino Banquet hall. We had deep wine colored linens and sashes to match. Ivory chair covers. Tables were named with names different Italian cities. Individual favors for all the guests were cute bottles of red wine. Our centerpieces brought few of the rich colors together to fill up the room and give it more texture. We had simple accent lighting that helped to create a warm mood later during the evening. We hope Christine and Dean have many happy years and we want to congratulate them on their marriage!

October wedding.

Christie & Rich, October 2012

We are already in 2013. Meeting with a lot of new clients and planning weddings for this year's summer and fall. I still have few posts from wonderful weddings we have done in 2012 so this week I have another wedding from this past October. Christie and Rich wanted an intimate fall wedding with lots of charm. We worked in one of smaller rooms in Royal Park Hotel so we decided to keep majority of colors lighter in shade. We had lots of champagne and we accented it with darker colors of brown and burgundy. For extra pop of color, we used copper and antique peach. Lower centerpieces were perfect for this space since they didn't take away from the room. We had a lot of wonderful little details such as our wedding cake table design and elegant menus. Christie and Rich looked very happy and they had a wonderful fall wedding day. We wish them wonderful life together!

Below is a dramatic Christine's bridal bouquet.
She was daring enough to go this dark, I was very proud of her!

Michigan Fall Wedding

Nancy & Karl, October 2011

I love fall weddings. Especially, here in Michigan our fall is spectacular. All the changing colors of trees are a true inspiration. For Nancy and Karl we really wanted to bring those colors into their hall. Nancy brought me few months ago samples of colors that she liked. Chocolate brown, burgundy, orange were our primary color palette for flowers. Reception was in the American Polish Cultural Center and because of the dark wood everywhere we really wanted to brighten up entire hall by using a lot of champagne in linens and chair covers. We had some accent up lighting in amber shade to warm up the walls and bring some of the details of the wood out. We also had set up a really elaborate cocktail hour section as well as a delicious sweets table by Flower to Flour bakery that was made out of 5 tables! A nice touch of fall, were small wine bottles that Nancy and Karl gave away as their favors. It was a beautiful wedding that looked extremely fun. Nancy and Karl were super sweet and I loved working with them. Happy married life to both of you!

Colors of Michigan Fall Wedding

Julie and David, September 2010

Julie and David were another wonderful couple that we had pleasure of working with this past summer. Julie had a clear vision of her wedding day. She picked burgundy as her primary color with accents of orange and white. We kept everything pretty simple. In the hall, we used regular chair covers with satin burgundy sashes. To match we used satin napkins that were neatly folded and placed on top of each place setting. On the head table and cake table we used custom burgundy linens to direct attention to those tables. It is a neat way to create something interesting yet to stick to a smaller budget that some of our clients are working with. The wedding took place in the St. Josaphat Catholic Church and reception was at the Summit on the Park in Canton. We were there for the first time and we had a blast. Congratulations to Julie and David, we wish you all the best!

Late Summer Wedding

Candiace and Tom, September 11th 2010

This has been probably the biggest wedding we have done this summer. Candice and Tom had over 380 guests attending their wedding in Sterling Inn Banquet Center in Sterling Heights. Not only was it large but also it was planned as far as decor goes in less than two months! The fact that we didn't spend an overly large amount of time on discussing the details made entire event very spontaneous and fun. Candice knew what she wanted. Her colors were burgundy and various shades of hot pink. She picked out for me few photos of flowers that gave her the inspiration and that was more than enough for us to do our part. We had burgundy linens altering with champagne ones. All the chair covers were satin white. We had hot pink candles and as you can tell lots and lots of LED lights and pin spots. It was a very busy day trying to pull everything together but the effect asalways was priceless. I think Candice and Tom had a great time and unforgettable night. Congratulations to both of you, you both looked gorgeous.

Marisa & Erick

December 5, 2009

We started planning with Marisa already during early summer. Marisa didn't want a typical wedding and liked the idea of an intimate, cozy, winter evening event. Since Marisa and Erick's wedding was in December she originally wanted to incorporate more holiday inspirations. We spoke about adding red berries and pine into the arrangements. Later, Marisa realized that this would not create the look that she had in mind. She wanted bold arrangements that would make a statement. We had really nice contrast going between the dark burgundy tones of the table linens and chair covers and the brightness of the arrangements. We didn't use any flowers that aren't available normally during winter season that is why we ended up not using orchids or delphiniums. We really wanted to stick to winter theme without putting holiday flair on it. We had four different type of roses ranging in tones from white to almost light pink and cream.
We used frosted candles on the tables inside of the vases we submerged flowers and created a look resembling ice. Once we were done, room was filled with sweet aroma of stock. On the pictures below you can see the overall idea. Some photos were taken during the day, before the Cherry Creek crew set up the tables, some were already taken in late afternoon, that is why they came out much darker. Personally, I can't wait to see the photographers pictures. I am sure they come out beautiful because it was a beautiful day, beautiful couple and beautiful venue. Congratulations to both of you. I was really happy about working with you and contributing to your day.

Really wonderful photography that captured the essence of that December day.
Great job!

Teresa and Michael

October 16, 2009

This weekend was pretty busy. I had a wonderful Friday wedding that I did work for Teresa and Michael. It was beautiful outside, kind of chilly but with lots of sun. Planning with Teresa was really simple, we met only once before her wedding day. I designed and made only reception flowers for her so I don't take credit for bridal flowers or any other bouquets and arrangements she had. As far as her reception flowers, Teresa's only request was to have tall vases and some of burgundy flowers in there to tie everything together. Their hall was Palazzo Grande in Shelby Twp. which is a brand new banquet and event center that opened up last winter. It is very well designed, it was all together a pleasant experience to be there. You can see few pictures of how everything looked below. Teresa and Michael left today for their honeymoon so I wish them lots of fun and relaxation and of course, congratulations - "100 Lat" to you!

African Dawn Bridal Bouquet

Once a while, for inspiration, I will post a bouquet designed by me.
I will try new things just so you could see what is possible to do and what kind of looks you can achieve. Below you can see African Dawn Roses clustered together with additions of ivy and grass. On the grass as you can see, I strung pearls. They can be variety of colors or shapes. We can do more or less of them to create different effects. Also, here you can see my handles that I usually do on the stems of my bouquets. I use the highest quality satin ribbons. On this spine there are little pearls giving it an extra detail. Of course all the handles are done per request and we can do anything you wish.

Paulina and Carlos

August 29th, 2009

It's already Tuesday, I can't believe time is flying so fast. It wasn't even a week ago when Paulina and I were making final changes to their wedding that took place this past Saturday. Now, our couple is already married, enjoying their first weeks of married life.

Let me describe a little the work that we have done for Paulina and Carlos. Number one inspiration for everything was joining of the two cultures. Paulina is Polish and Carlos is Mexican, so we wanted to create something different and unique that would capture the feel of both nationalities. Paulina has requested Birds of Paradise and Stargazers to be included in table arrangements. The colors were burgundy and white with additions of greens and few other colors that added more vibrancy. We had quite a bit of palm leaves that gave a little bit more exotic feel. Linens, as you can see were burgundy with pretty strong shimmer to them, they were pinned so they gave a really nice texture. Our chair covers were satin white, extremely smooth looking, so there was a nice contrast between them and the texture of linens. Paulina and Carlos had both Mexican and Polish bands playing, they included a little bit of both traditions into their wedding. They looked beautiful and I think everything turned out great.
They were really fun to work with and I hope they will have a long and happy life together. Congratulations to both of you.
