Magical fall wedding inside of the Henry Ford Museum.

Fall is a just an amazing season for weddings. Especially here in Michigan it is just magical. Between late September and early October those are the best weeks of fall here. The colors are rich and weather is still nice enough to enjoy the outdoors. Shannon was the best fall wedding client that we could possibly have. She was bold enough and had enough guts to try something not very expected for a wedding. The only demand that Shannon had was to have lots of sunflowers. And that we had! Other than that whatever I suggested, Shannon seemed to go along with. I even had to double check if this is really something that she wants to go with since we really didn't have any white or ivory flowers. I remember saying "Shannon are you sure you want to go that dark?" (because there was no light colors in our arrangements besides yellow sunflowers!) Shannon had a good vision and we stuck with it. Final effect is below. When we finished setting up everything and had a moment to look at our finished product inside of the Henry Ford Museum everything was just so extremely romantic and cozy. We had charcoal linens, and copper/chocolate napkins. Flowers were antique hydrangeas with sunflowers and roses, we had our iron vintage stands with hanging candles. The Henry Ford's wooden floors and touches of amber lighting just really pulled everything together. Hanging plane over the dance floor, just priceless. 

Shannon and Chris looked charming and very in love. We were extremely happy for them. 

Shannon's bridal bouquet is shown below. Combination of roses, ranunculus, spray roses, yellow craspedia balls and chocolate cymbidium orchids.

October Wedding in Mac and Ray's

Nicole & Stephen, October 30th, 2010

In October we had many wonderful weddings. I love October for the fact that it is truly romantic. The fall in Michigan really is beautiful and I am happy that many of you take advantage of that. Nicole and Stephen had their wedding on the Halloween weekend. It was really elegant and fun. I am happy that Nicole avoided typical "Halloween look" for their special day. Since the beginning Nicole had in mind what she really wanted as far as flowers. Our mix of colors were shades of purples, deep pinks and accents of warm orange shades. We were going back and forth on picking correct linens and we ended up picking ivory for both, all chair covers and linens. We had deep plum napkins and sashes adding contrast to our tables. We created cascading design out of flowers on very simple wedding cake that Nicole ordered. We also had LED lights that added great amount of color to the room. In Mac and Ray's Banquet Hall there are already a lot of pink and purple lights installed on the ceiling, so we decided to leverage those shades and just add on even more lights to the room. Everyone that attended had a great time and we really enjoyed planning with Nicole and Stephen. Thank You for working with us and good luck!

Cozy Winter Wedding in Cold Detroit

Gosia and Aaron, December 4th 2010

We had a wonderful time completing vision of a wedding that Gosia and Aaron were planning for the past few months. It was a journey that we started together early summer and during the first meeting with Gosia her vision was quite different. We established that the colors that Gosia wanted were royal blue and silver. Since we haven't committed to that color combination in any way, somewhere along the way we choose to go different direction. We picked together warmer colors that would fit banquet hall better and would create a cozy feeling. Our primary colors ended up being champagne, gold and black. We added extra touch by using amber washes on the wooden walls and amber candle light. Our table arrangements weren't large so we used light colored flowers in order for them to stand out better on dark wooden walls. Ivory stock, hydrangeas, spray roses and even December tulips were in the closely bundled bunches. Gosia and Aaron had a beautiful ceremony in the Lutheran Church of the Master. After they went to chilly downtown Detroit to take beautiful photos and came back to Troy for a reception in American Polish Cultural Center. Even through outside was very cold, everyone warmed up and parted till the end of the night. The dance floor was full till very last song. It was great to see everyone celebrating! As you can tell on one of the below photos, Gosia ended up having royal blue still included in her wedding. We all had great time as well and we wish Gosia and Aaron all the best!

Romantic Rainy Fall Wedding in Downtown Detroit

Amy and Dan, October 2nd, 2010

We had so much fun working with Amy, Dan and their families. I must say this doesn't happen often to have everyone so equally involved and hard working to make a wedding day come true. For Amy and Dan it definitely paid off. All the details were so well taught through and everything was planned ahead for minimum stress and maximum fun. Entire day of the wedding, it was raining and it was a pretty gray dayhere in Detroit however nothing stood in a way of having a next to perfect wedding. Ceremony took place in an extremely beautiful church right downtown at the Fort St. Presbytarian Church. We were for the first time in there and I must say the church took my breath away. Since Amy and Dan had a lot of guests coming from out of state, they hired Royal Transportation for quick and easy way of transporting everyone around Detroit. Following ceremony, reception was at the Colony Club where everyone there was extremely helpful and we had a great time working with. Amy and Dan had ivory linens, gold chiavari chairs, gold charges. Flowers we kept ivory, white with additions of gold-peach spray roses that brought out the gold in the interior of the ballroom. Amy Carroll was the photographer that captured all the details. I don't think there is a lot of photographers out there that capture everything with that amount of love, as Amy does. Holiday Market and Kim did an amazing job preparing a beautiful wedding cake. Trifoot Production captured wonderful moments from entire day on video camera. All the vendors were truly a pleasure to work with and made together pulled off an amazing wedding. Of course Amy and Dan topped it off by looking stunning. Congratulations to both of you!
