Margaret & Daniel: Sunny all around.

Margaret and Daniel were just a joy from the beginning of the planning to their big day. They always had smiles and their faces and were super sweet. That's why it wasn't a surprise to know that Margaret has picked yellow as their primary color for their wedding. Yellow is just so cheerful and refreshing. Since our venue had some colors that were really dominant and weren't part out our palette, we decided to tone them out by using lots of white and light silver. We also got some accent lighting that shifted some of colors on the walls. It was a beautiful day and I am happy we got to share it with Margaret and Daniel. We wish them all the best!

Here is Margaret's all yellow calla lily bouquet!

And below few wonderful shots from the big day taken by Agnes Photography.

Lindsey and Julian tie the knot!

August 2013

We have done many wonderful weddings this past summer and they all were different and special in their own way. With this wedding it was nice to have the groom involved in planning process as much as the bride. (That doesn't happen often). Lindsey and Julian went from a very pale palette of colors to a little bit more daring one. Julian actually encouraged Lindsey that using hot pink might bring more energy and vibrancy to the wedding. To balance their pink color combination we ended up picking charcoal table linens. I think it is a great way to get a very pink wedding without being overly girly! The mix of the two turned out really well for them. It really complemented the room. We had two types of centerpieces that added height to very tall ceilings in American Polish Cultural Center. Julian wasn't a fan of candles because he wanted a little bit more contemporary look but we balanced our LED lights with hot pink candles that looked really fun. At the end our bride and groom were extremely happy with the look of their room. Even Julian agreed that the hot pink candles added charm! Our stunning couple had a great day and we hope they will have an equally great life together. Cheers to Lindsey and Julian!

We still haven't seen any wedding photos from professional wedding photographer but once we do I will make sure to add few. In main time few of our own will have to do.

Very pink bridal bouquet. With variety of roses, hot pink stock and stargazer lilies. On the handle we added an antique brooch.

Above are few bridesmaids bouquets that had similar colors to the bridal bouquet except we added more white for the flowers to stand out on hot pink dresses that they were wearing.

Magical fall wedding inside of the Henry Ford Museum.

Shannon & Chris, September 2012

Fall is a just an amazing season for weddings. Especially here in Michigan it is just magical. Between late September and early October those are the best weeks of fall here. The colors are rich and weather is still nice enough to enjoy the outdoors. Shannon was the best fall wedding client that we could possibly have. She was bold enough and had enough guts to try something not very expected for a wedding. The only demand that Shannon had was to have lots of sunflowers. And that we had! Other than that whatever I suggested, Shannon seemed to go along with. I even had to double check if this is really something that she wants to go with since we really didn't have any white or ivory flowers. I remember saying "Shannon are you sure you want to go that dark?" (because there was no light colors in our arrangements besides yellow sunflowers!) Shannon had a good vision and we stuck with it. Final effect is below. When we finished setting up everything and had a moment to look at our finished product inside of the Henry Ford Museum everything was just so extremely romantic and cozy. We had charcoal linens, and copper/chocolate napkins. Flowers were antique hydrangeas with sunflowers and roses, we had our iron vintage stands with hanging candles. The Henry Ford's wooden floors and touches of amber lighting just really pulled everything together. Hanging plane over the dance floor, just priceless.
Shannon and Chris looked charming and very in love. We were extremely happy for them.

Shannon's bridal bouquet is shown below. Combination of roses, ranunculus, spray roses, yellow craspedia balls and chocolate cymbidium orchids.

Below are few beautiful photos from Special Moments Photography. If you wish to see more photos from Patrick and Sarah please visit their blog!

And few more, since I couldn't resist not posting them. On the top right you can see our white umbrella that cam in handy since it was sprinkling later on in the evening. Those shots came our super fun!

Bright and happy summer!

Jessica & Joe, August 2012
August is one of my favorite months for summer weddings. You can really feel summer in the air. For her perfect wedding date, Jessica picked out a color combination that was very summer-like. Our primary color was royal blue which was accented by lavender and fuchsia. We had lots of white and silver to balance out our very saturated and happy color scheme. I am not sure if you can see on the photos since Penna's of Sterling has large rooms but Jessica and Joe's wedding had over three hundred guests. With that many tables we decided to do two different centerpieces and after much of debating we even decided on two different colors of linens and sashes for chairs. Jessica was a little nervous about our two so very different set ups but once she saw everything set up in the room she realized it was a great choice. Different table set ups gave an interest and an element of fun to entire event. Entire wedding turned out great and everyone had lots of fun. We only wish Penna's management was as helpful and nice as all the other vendors that Jessica and Joe picked out to work with. Jessica and Joe we wish you very happy married life together!

Jessica has requested in her bridal bouquet blue orchids, so below you can see her white rose bridal bouquet accented by blue orchids and blue corn flowers and delphiniums.

Barbara and Arnold

October 24, 2009

I was supposed to have this weekend actually open. I was kind of excited about having a weekend to myself but through my surprise, on Tuesday I met with Barbara and Arnold which were scheduled to have their wedding on this Saturday. I ended up pretty much having 4 days to figure everything out in time for their wedding. As you can see it is possible, yet it is too late to put in orders for flowers so you just have to deal with whatever is in the warehouse at the time. Barbara wanted everything white/ivory with some additions of orange and silver. We had silver pillowcase chair covers. Wedding took place in our Polish local church, Our Lady of Czestochowa. Reception was at the Russian restaurant, The Fiddler. I have few pictures below, I did however skip out on taking pictures of the bridal party flowers because I run out of time. I hope I will be able to post them when I will get them from Barbara and Arnold's photographer. I think everything turned out wonderful considering that we had very, very tight deadline. Congratulations to you!

New Year's Eve 09

So like every year, once again I decorated/designed New Year's Eve party.
I love doing it but I won't lie by saying "it is easy", even thru this is my 6th New Year's Eve Party in a row for over 600 people. There are guidelines to follow that make it a little bit more difficult. With this economy - number one being small budget. This year we decided to go with Winter Wonderland theme: blue, white and silver combination in one hall.

And burgundy, gold & red in another.

You can see on my pictures how it turned out. With dimmed lights, bands being set up and everyone on the dance floor it really came together.

I know this isn't a wedding post, but for those couples looking for something different, this might be an option. Other than that, hope to see you there next year!
