Kinga & Adam and their summer wedding.

August, 2013

We are always lucky to have clients that want to be adventurous when it comes to the look of their wedding. Our bride and groom, Kinga and Adam really picked a unique color combination that isn't often used for weddings. Purple hues have been huge in 2013 as well as will be in 2014. There are many colors that you can pair up with purple but green isn't an an obvious choice. We paired up flowers in a way to create high contrast between both colors. For bridesmaids we picked a good mix of both colors of flowers to accent their lighter violet color dresses. (We even picked two tone orchids with purple middles). For reception in the American Polish Cultural Center we used shimmery purple table linens and purple lighting to create dramatic look. In order to keep the look at the room more wedding-like we still used white satin chair covers and white napkins. Below photos show you our final look of the room. Our bride and groom had a gorgeous summer day and their color choices really became representation of their unique characters. We wish them many happy years together!

Lindsey and Julian tie the knot!

August 2013

We have done many wonderful weddings this past summer and they all were different and special in their own way. With this wedding it was nice to have the groom involved in planning process as much as the bride. (That doesn't happen often). Lindsey and Julian went from a very pale palette of colors to a little bit more daring one. Julian actually encouraged Lindsey that using hot pink might bring more energy and vibrancy to the wedding. To balance their pink color combination we ended up picking charcoal table linens. I think it is a great way to get a very pink wedding without being overly girly! The mix of the two turned out really well for them. It really complemented the room. We had two types of centerpieces that added height to very tall ceilings in American Polish Cultural Center. Julian wasn't a fan of candles because he wanted a little bit more contemporary look but we balanced our LED lights with hot pink candles that looked really fun. At the end our bride and groom were extremely happy with the look of their room. Even Julian agreed that the hot pink candles added charm! Our stunning couple had a great day and we hope they will have an equally great life together. Cheers to Lindsey and Julian!

We still haven't seen any wedding photos from professional wedding photographer but once we do I will make sure to add few. In main time few of our own will have to do.

Very pink bridal bouquet. With variety of roses, hot pink stock and stargazer lilies. On the handle we added an antique brooch.

Above are few bridesmaids bouquets that had similar colors to the bridal bouquet except we added more white for the flowers to stand out on hot pink dresses that they were wearing.

White and Red: Polish wedding - "take two"

Karolina & Grzegorz, August 2012

This year, this was our second Polish white and red wedding! A funny twist was that Karolina and Grzegorz are actually friends with our couple that also had a red and white wedding few months back, Joanna and Dariusz. They picked the same colors, yet it was never a concern to them till they came to Joanna and Dariusz's wedding. After the wedding Karolina and Grzegorz said that they don't want to look like they copied their friends wedding. (Which is a natural concern for any bride and groom to be) The weddings we design are always different and we weren't as concerned as our couple but just to make the transformation more dramatic we decide to flip the colors around. Our venue, American Polish Cultural Center has a very pale palate in the room, so we designed centerpieces that would be a pop of color. Actually our arrangements were all red! No white at all. The white was present in linens and chair covers as well as china and fabric additions. It was all about making red be an accent. Below is a result of our design. Karolina and Grzegorz really liked how it turned out. It really looked different when you were a guest that came to both of the weddings. I know Karolina and Grzegorz had an amazing honey moon and we wish them even more amazing marriage! Congratulations to both of you!

Romantic Princess Wedding.

Marta & Arek, August 2011

We really couldn't wait this year for Marta and Arek's wedding. Marta few years back, helped us with setting up some of our events. In that process she really did learn quite a bit about weddings. She also got plenty of inspiration and got to see what works andwhat doesn't. Direction that we received from Marta was to keep everything very elegant and romantic, with the use of soft blush and champagne colors. After looking at Marta's (gorgeous) gown I knew that everything that we will do, will have to have some glamour in it. I wanted a heavy look with a delicate twist. I even personally gave direction on color and style of bridesmaids dresses! (This never happens). Wedding ceremony took place in the Polish church, Our Lady of Czestochowa. Reception followed after in American Polish Cultural Center. Our champagne textured linens and ivory chair covers really brightened the dark hall thatthe event was in. We also had LED lighting set up around the room to add extra warmth . Behind the head table we had fabric with our wonderful couple's initials and florals. Marta and Arek had a large bridal party so we decided to split the head table into two tears. It became more visually appealing. We had many details designed especially for Marta. Our table numbers, door welcoming signs, cake label were all custom made with crystals and pearl papers. Documenting entire wedding day was Marek Dziekonski, as always he outdone himself with capturing everything perfectly. The best part of Marta and Arek's wedding was that we actually gotto attend it as guests. Everything looked absolutely stunning once it was finished and filled with guests. Our couple looked amazing. In the end Marta concluded that everything looked exactly the way she imagined it. (I never get sick of hearing that!) Congratulations and good luck to both of you!

Biesiada

Biesiada - Radio Dla Ciebie

This has been a busy week. This past weekend I designed and decorated an event for a Polish Radio Station. I was happy, to be also invited to the event itself.  I had a first hand experience of entire night. Whole evening was based on old fashion Polish parties, that's where the name "Biesiada" comes from. During those events there was always a lot of food, drinking and dancing. Everything, in fact for our Biesiada turned out wonderful. There were Polish folk dancers, traditional Polish dishes to taste and at midnight, they brought out whole roasted pig. It was great! The weather, could probably not get any worse since it snowed about a foot in few hours and it was extremely cold. Luckily, everyone made it and who ever did, I am sure they didn't regret it one bit! It was worth it. I wish there was more Polish events with that much of Polish flavor in it.
I am attaching few pictures of what everything looked like. I am kind of bumped out I didn't take any pictures of the appetizer table and some of the dishes. I know better for the next time.

Just a little note about decorations. Our colors were burgundy, white and natural shades.
Linens were crushed gold, burgundy bichon. Our centerpieces were combination of dry grasses and wooden elements to give traditional folk elements into entire event. Underneath each centerpiece was a design that was created for invitations and tickets and other various promotional materials for this occasion. Organza sashes on the chairs were combination of gold, gray & green, which shimmered in the light.
