Pączki: Perfect sweets table addition.

Fat Tuesday Inspiration

This is probably one of the best holidays ever. Not only you get to stuff your face with delicious filled, heavy Pączki but most importantly you don't have to feel bad about doing it since we will be dieting for the next few weeks! Paczki are one of those pastries in Poland that are like doughnuts in America. You can really get them any day of the week, any season. What is great is, that they are relatively easy to find and are unique to Polish culture. This past summer season we worked with Amy and Neil on their wedding. Amy requested to have Pączki at the midnight snack table in order to add a little bit of Polish flavor to the wedding. Everyone loved them and they were really fun addition. See detail shots below.

You could also stack them up in a tower just like cupcakes instead of traditional wedding cake!

(Thank you Marek for taking all those beautiful detail photos!)

Basket full of petals!

2012 Floral Competition

Second year in a row, we entered a piece for our local floral competition. Last year we got second place with our design that we entered. It was a modern centerpiece that was simple yet complex in its design. This year we wanted to try something different and a bit more unexpected. The concept was to reinvent an idea of a flower girl basket. Personally, I know that today many local Churches or ceremony sights don't allow for flower girls to throw petals. (I know it is sad! But there are good reasons for not allowing it). What we wanted to do is to use petal element in a new way. We used multitude of rose petals and focused only on one single flower and its layers. Below is a sample of our new concept of a flower girl basket. This year we didn't win but we are happy for the opportunity to reinvent the usual. Possibly few of you can consider this idea as an alternative for a usual flower basket!
